New Combined Blog & Explanation
It is my intent in this entry to combine entries from two older blogs of mine to this new blog "An Odyssey to Harvest". (please see the entries below). I am excited about this process, yet I realize how it may appear to be a bit choppy, disorganized, incoherent, unrelated, and meaningless at first glance.
I must defer to someone (unknown to me by name) who mentioned that Life's journey and meandering pathway of events that mold us into (hopefully) better people as we grow older look like the underside of a tapestry: all sorts of colors and knots and various thread lengths make up the ugly "wrong" side of a piece of tapestry. Also, I should add that a lot of time needs to be spent with needle and thread and stitching to "work" at the map of one's Life. I believe that our life is linear, and therefore the tapestry of our Journey is more like a bolt of fabric; the stitching gets better and better as we progress through the lessons we learn in our lifetimes.....so the tapestry at the beginning of the roll of fabric is a lot rougher with many mistakes, blood from pricking our fingers etc. However, when one turns the tapestry over so it is right-side-up as we get further along in the bolt of cloth, one beholds a beautiful, intricately woven tapestry design, with a uniformity of design and hues that are very pleasing to gaze upon.
As I enter my seventh decade of my life, my own tapestry has been worked on beginning with the training of my mother. I made a lot of mistakes, my thread broke, the fabric got dirty, I wrinkled it and about gave up. I found out that my mother had not perfected her stitchery lessons with her mother, and a lot of my patterns in my life were distorted and needed to be re-worked after I learned a better technique.
